🫖 Alice Spills the Tea: The Vanishing Lighthouse Keepers

Oh, darlings… listen closely, because this one will curl your hair and chill your bones.

It was 1900-something, off the coast of Scotland, on a lonely island where the waves were more loyal to the rocks than the humans who walked them. Three lighthouse keepers lived there, tending the light, keeping ships from smashing into the cliffs. Ordinary men with ordinary jobs, until one day… they vanished.

No struggle. No footprints leading away. Just empty beds and dinner left untouched. The lighthouse was locked from the inside. The lamps were shining. Everything was in its proper place. And yet, the men were gone.

Theories arrived faster than gulls on a stormy shore. Had they fallen to the sea? Could a rogue wave swallow them whole? Or had something stranger, something hungry and unseen, stepped into the room while no one looked?

Even stranger, a diary was found. It hinted at tension among the men, hints of fear, of voices in the wind, of shadows moving along the walls at night. Some entries were illegible, smeared as though someone had cried through ink.

The lighthouse remains. The sea remains. And sometimes, visitors claim to hear three sets of footsteps echoing in empty halls, or a light turning on when no one is near.

Not all disappearances are simple accidents. Sometimes, the world simply swallows what it pleases, and leaves a story to haunt the living.

So, sip your tea carefully tonight. And if you ever visit an isolated lighthouse… be sure to lock the door behind you.

Yours wickedly,
Alice, Queen of Ink & Lore

From Alice’s Mad Tea Party

The story of the Flannan Isles lighthouse keepers in 1900 is allegedly a real historical mystery. Three men vanished without a trace on a remote Scottish island. Investigations found the lighthouse in order, no signs of a struggle, and supplies left untouched.

Explanations range from rogue waves to human error or accidental falls. Some have suggested more supernatural possibilities, inspired by diary entries or local folklore. The truth remains unknown.

Alice’s retelling emphasizes atmosphere and suspense, turning a factual disappearance into a narrative that allows readers to feel the isolation, the fear, and the eerie calm before an inexplicable vanishing.
